Skip Radio Commercials with Google Home

Post Icon So have you ever wanted to skip the radio commercials and news at the top and the bottom of the hours when listening on Google Home? After searching around a bit, I could not find a way to directly skip radio ads while listening. However, I think I have found a workaround, and it should also work on an Alexa or similar device. Here are the steps.

"Hey Google. Mute"
- Turns off the audio, but keeps tracking the stream.
"Hey Google. Set a timer for 5 minutes"
- Google Home starts a timer that goes off in 5 minutes. Set the time to however long you want to skip.
Timer goes off.
"Stop"
- You don't have to say "Hey Google" for a timer.
"Hey Google. Unmute."

You radio show continues after the 5 minutes as if you have been listening the whole time. Its a good way to skip all the ads and fake news. Enjoy!
